Since June 2017 Roland Meyer works as a research assistant at the Institute of Sustainability in Civil Engineering. Earlier, he worked as a research assistant at the former Insitute of Waste Management. There he was responsible for the development and organization of lecture and teaching acitivities as well as different kinds of administrative duties. He was involved in various projects, such as the disposal of tar-containing road construction waste, the recovery of phosphorus from sewage sludge, or the assessment of land use. He has a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. Within his dissertation he assessed the effects of the utilization of mineral residues on the groundwater. Before joining the RWTH Aachen University, he worked for the focon engineering company, which dealt with topics related to remediation.
